Translation and Intercultural Communication (TICC) is a research group which consists of current and former academics and doctoral scholars at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Some of the members are presently based at other universities and academic institutions yet maintain their contributions to the group projects and organization of events. Besides areas such as translation sociology, psychology, and pedagogy, most members are focused on various subareas of audiovisual translation and multimedia localization. TICC has been effectively contributing to the national academia by publishing widely in top-tier national and international journals and hosting numerous seminars, workshops and conferences on translation and intercultural communication, especially in relation to multimedia content. Almost all members are actively engaged in translator education in Iranian universities at undergraduate and graduate levels. Also, faculty members at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad have been contributing to the MA and PhD programs in Translation Studies for over a decade and many of the graduates are currently instrumental in the academic and professional landscape of Persian and English translation and interpreting services.
